Courses Offered
Department of Polymer Science & Technology aims to provide state-of-art knowledge, practical and research skills through sophisticated labroratory and advanced polymer processing and characterization instruments to the UG, PG and PhD students in the diverse fields of Polymer Science & Technology.
Development of novel polymers including biopolymer, hydrogels, nanomaterials, conducting polymers etc. by our PG and PHD students with the guidance of highly experienced Professors aims for improving human health, waste water treatment, solar energy, polution less society towards green world.
Eligibility
B.Tech.: There are two categories admissions. (1) 4 Yrs B.Tech. course from 10+2 with ranking in WB Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (50% of total intake capacity) and (2) 3 Yrs B.Tech. course through parallel entry at 3rd semester from B.Sc. in Cheemistry (Hons) (50% of total intake capacity). But, the degree will be 4 Yrs B.Tech. in Polymer Science & Technology.
M.Tech.: B.Tech. in Polymer Sci & Tech/Chem Eng./Chem Tech or equivalent /MSc. in Chemistry.
Ph.D.: From any Science and Engineering field students can join for Ph.D. through clearing of departmental PET (Ph.D. entrance test) examination followed by interview. GATE or NET qualified students don't need to appear PET examination.
